When your Happy Socks arrive at your door, it will be enclosed in either a cardboard box or a compostable bag, depending on how many you order. The cardboard box, you can keep or place within your recycling bin. The Compostable Bag, yes, it looks and feels like plastic, but it's not. Not even close. It is a 100% home-compostable shipping mailer and is made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable) and 20-30% PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch)..
Inside, is more environmentally packaging, to protect your socks:
- WBH Stickers - are printed on vellum (uncoated) biodegradable adhesive papers, using vegetable based inks.
- 'We Appreciate You' Card - 100% post-consumer recycled card, using vegetable based inks.
- 100% Recycled Brown Wrapping Paper
**Vegetable based inks are made from corn, walnut, coconut, linseed, canola and soy bean. Vegetable based inks are also a renewable resource and do not require harmful solvents/chemicals for cleaning the printing presses. You can see there are so many reasons to choose vegetable ink!
